This is a debate on how large we want our Farm System. When I started this league I envisioned a large minor league system for each team. A crop from which you'll groom players for years to come. I believed 25 was a decent number to start with per franchise considering all the levels each MLB franchise has. So with 2 franchises we start with a max of 50 keepers.
Now that we're (most likely) adding a supplemental draft, the question is whether our farm can expand in size. Teams will add and drop prospects throughout the offseason and during the season via trades, promotions, releases, etc. Where do we see our Diamond Duos league going? Is this a number that has to be locked at 50, or can it grow, and if so, how large?
Your thoughts here are important. Please vote and then comment.

I'll throw my plan out here:
60 prospect limit (100 total players)
5 round initial draft
the option of adding one prospect per month waiver wire fashion (dropping players if necessary)
amateur draft in the offseason, up to 15 picks per person

I like the idea. So if I have 60 minor leaguers at the end of 2013, and that's the farm max, how do I participate in an offseason amateur draft?
Just asking.

You would have to drop players (I'm assuming). Or you just count on promoting players. It can't keep going up from 60.
I agree with Andrew's plan but I would just lower the numbers to 55 and 5-10 offseason draft.

during the amateur draft why not release a player simultaneously if you already have 60 prospects? or have a day after the draft to release the required amout

Makes sense. If you want to draft amateurs and are at or near 60, then cut others as needed. Yeah, could be by the next day. Give a little wiggle room to check up on which kid's gotta get the boot.

I think 60 is a nice round number for a Minor League Max!!!
