When can we put our initial Free abent bids on the board ? Where can we post them ? Scott sent an email out stating that he wants us to start posting our 2 initial contract offers.

I wanted to open this thread to have people start putting 2 offers up on Sunday, but I cannot do this until we are squared away with our salaries/signing bonuses debate and Constitution/Rules are updated.
When I do open it up, I will post the first 2 offers so everyone can see how it works.

Hey all. Kirk will have his KC-MIA keepers and salaries posted by tomorrow night (Tuesday). At this point since we're finalizing additional language for a few items including our Minimum IP poll, my plan is this.
I should be able to allow initial FA contract offers to be posted Thursday. I'm sure it'll take a little time for all 15 of us to post our first 2 guys. Each one will be viewable but locked. I would like to unlock them and start the clock running Friday night.

Scott, are we still keeping tomorrow's timeline for FA bidding to start?

My plan is to post the first couple of FA contract offers tomorrow late afternoon. Once I do then everyone else can post their first two offers. All threads will be locked and actual bidding (upping the contract offers) won't begin until Friday night.

Just to clarify, threads won't be locked (like trades etc.) until Friday night right?

I am going to post FA #1 and FA #2 and my intial contract offers for them later this afternoon. Once I do I am going to lock those threads so nobody is allowed to up the offers. After each of you post your players I will be locking those threads as well. Once all 15 of us have posted their initial two players we should be ready to go, but I will not unlock the thread until tomorrow night. I'm shooting for 8:00pm EST Friday night and will keep you all updated.

I must be missing why trades have to be locked. is it so we know everyone's cap number can only be changed by signing players?

Yes, no trading during FA draft. See where you are following bidding. Everyone must fill at least 37 spots. Once FA bidding draft is complete (this is going to take some time guys) then trading will be open again, until the trade deadline later in the season. Makes it a lot easier to track salary caps, which I'll be doing- hopefully with some help from others monitoring teams as well.

Guys, I'm at my son's hoops practice but am in Diamond Duos mode. I will now post the first two Free Agent initial contract offers. Do not up the bids yet. I will lock the threads as soon as I can. You may start to post your 2 free agent offers. We'll open them all up for bidding tomorrow night.
Please follow the Jim Rice format and the two I put up. Thanks, and let's have some fun!

I thought as long as a player wasn't signed to a team we weren't allowed to bid on them? So Bourne couldn't be offered a contract until he signs somewhere. Could be wrong just thought I remember that being clarified sometime

Anyone not on a team now is available to be bid on.

No, those players couldn't be kept. Any Majors eligible player can be posted now. You want to take a chance and spend money on someone that's not signed with a team, go right ahead.

These need to be moved out of this thread and made in their own individual threads.

Guys, I'm sorry if I was not clear above. Could have been construed as trading is allowed until we start bidding tomorrow (Friday) night. I certainly intended trading to be closed once FA's began to be posted. No, we’re not bidding until tomorrow night, but players are being posted now. It is not fair to allow trading while all of us are posting FA offers. Teams are now posting players based on roster needs and spots to fill.
Trading will be opened right up once the FA bidding draft is complete and every team has at least 37 out of 40 spots filled and are within the $170M salary cap for 2013.

Just to clarify one last time: Once the threads are unlocked, if a player has not been bid on for 12 hours then the player is signed by the last bidder correct?
(Couldn't remember if it was 12 or 24 hours)
