Rumors have been circulating that Carlos Beltran may be given the franchise tag designation by the St. Louis A's. Grant Balfour is another candidate for the franchise tag.
If the A's tag Beltran, there is no guarantee Beltran will remain with the team throughout the offseason. With Oscar Taveras lurking, Beltran may be traded to a team who needs an impact OF bat.
