Det Brewers / KC Marlins Trade

[Jeff (KC Marlins)]

Brewers send Tarik Skubal SP Det ($0.5M & $0.5M) and Michael King SP SD ($25M;$20M;$19M;$15M, $11.05M) to Marlins.

KC Marlins send Jazz Chisholm (2B/OF Mia $0.5M;$0.5M) , Alec Burleson OF STL ($0.5M;$0.5M;$0.5M;$0.5M) , Carlos Correa SS MIN ($30M ; $26M) , prospects Cade Horton SP CHC and Ceddanne Rafaela SS/OF Bos and its 2025 2nd round pick to the Brewers.

This deal stems from Tony's OTB from a few weeks back where he put both skubal and king out there.  Wanted more SP depth and help and K's and like that both are controllable for several years.

Jazz returns back home to Tony.  Tony wanted controllable bats which he gets.  Plus some additional future upside in Horton and the pick.   Correa is included for the short term salaries to match up.

just like jeff wrote, he gets an ace and a solid pitcher when healthy. i needed some offense and i always liked jizz. burleson is looking good and rafaela is sort like a jizz-clone. horton may take skubal's place in the rotation in a year or so. correa balances out the salaries and will provide veteran leadership in the clubhouse. good talks, as always, with jeff.
