I wouldn’t have thought blind bids that are not official until midnight, would supersede minors claims made before? Is that in the constitution somewhere? I’m fine with it if that’s the established rule. Just want to be clear for future reference.

I’m fine with it if that’s the established rule. Just want to be clear for future reference. I have been thinking the same way as Jarrod- if you are able to revise your bids any time up to midnight, my feeling is that all bids are effectively processed at midnight. Just for clarity on the rules I posted earlier in the season that this was to be the case in DD5. However DD1 has been going for so long I would imagine there is precedent here, and like Jarrod I have no issues with using this version of the rules here, but ideally it would be accompanied by a rule that you can’t retract bids once emailed.

Sorry, Jarrod asked this on Twitter, and I answered there, but I know there are a few who are not on there. The claim (whether blind bid or minors claims) is awarded based on which was submitted first by time stamp. The blind bids are official as soon as they are emailed. The constitution specifically says, "In the event that a Major League free agency blind bid is put in for a player who is also claimed, whichever claim came in first will be honored as the winning claim." One of the tie breakers in the constitution is the timing of the email being sent (if two owners made the same offer). This is the reason they are not sent to my inbox or anything like that, and why the emails are only checked once per week (so that there is no advantage for me or any other commissioner). As far as I can remember, this is how things have been across all Diamond Duos leagues, and since this portion is specifically laid out in the constitution, we'll move forward with that for DD1.
