Cincinnati trades: Luis Severino SP NYY 23: 12.5M; 24: 10.5M; 25: 8.5M James Paxton SP BOS 23: 3M Evan Longoria 3B ARI 23: 0.5M Robert Moore 2B MIL (prospect)
Cleveland trades: Anthony Rendon 3B LAA 23: 15M; 24: 15M; 25: 15M Tyler Wells SP BAL 23: 1.28M; 24: 2.65M; 25: 2.65M Adael Amador SS COL (prospect) Ryan Clifford 1B/OF HOU (prospect)
Reasoning: I'm continuing to tear down, moving vets for prospects. Henry reached out on Severino, and after a quick back-and-forth, this is where we ended up. I like Severino a lot, which is why I matched the RFA offer on him this offseason, but he's definitely a health risk, and considering the state of my team around him, I thought it made sense to go ahead and move him when he's in position to help another team. I view Rendon more or less as dead money, but we'll see if he can get healthy and maybe provide enough production in a good Angels lineup to warrant holding at $15M/yr. I won't be getting my hopes up. Wells is solid and affordable for the next few years, so I'm happy to have him, but I'm really excited to add Amador and Clifford to my farm. I know Clifford has struggled a bit since the promotion to A+, but I love that kid. They're both very fun players.
Good talks, Henry! I hope those SPs stay healthy for you.

Cleveland agrees. I like Severino and in a scarce pitching market very good prospects are required to make something like that work. It’s a pity also losing Rendon as I think this year is promising one for a bounce back but I have depth hitters and Longoria helps at 3B specifically. Great catching up with Daniel and hope the players work out for him, especially the prospects!
