Braves are excited to acquire a CY Young caliber SP for 2 years at a reasonable $9m salary to offset the potential loss of deGrom and Snell. I was really looking to avoid having to get in bidding wars for high impact quality MLB guys when FA starts. Wheeler checks all those boxes.

While I am not excited to lose a player the caliber of Zack Wheeler, I feel I will be able to get close to those same numbers with Shane Baz (as long as he continues to perform). The ability to add 3 prospects the caliber of Taj, Ty, and PCA is beyond exciting. Taj is one of my favorite prospects and Ty was my favorite pitcher in this draft class. As long as PCA can bounce back from the shoulder surgery, he has all the tools. The claims were just icing on the cake.
