It is my hope that I will be in the upper echelon of duos come about 2 years, I felt that I needed more young talented minor league guys for that plan, enter Kelenic and Vaughn.  I am taking a flyer on bounce back post arm issues on Schmidt.  Flaherty is a gold mind imo, 3 years left of team control on rookie contract and 2 years of prospect tags, very tough to move him, but feel good about the return pieces long view ways.

I've built up a strong farm over the past couple seasons, this is a move to help me win now. Felt like I got the best player in the deal with Flaherty, a potential CI option with Gio (or Beer if he's up in 2020 and hitting), and fill a glaring hole with Perez.

I have to make a couple MLB roster cuts to add these guys, so my understanding is this needs to wait until after UFA is done before final processing.
