The Colorado Devil Rays agree to trade: Yuli Gurriel, 1B (HOU) - '20: $5M Clint Frazier, OF (NYY) - '20: $7M, '21: $5M
to the Philadelphia Astros for: Zack Wheeler, P (FA) Will Smith, P (FA) Joe Gray, OF (MIL) - Propsect Riley Adams, C (TOR) - Prospect Jake Woodford, P (STL) - Prospect 2021 Draft 5th Round Select
Devil Rays Logic: Colorado agrees to this trade. Yuli only has one year left on his current deal and, at 35, doesn't necessarily fit into my long term plans. And Frazier, when allowed to play, performs well but I am not sure how much playing time he will get. Wheeler and Smith are still young and will vastly improve my pitching staff in 2020 and beyond. You can never have enough catchers in a league like this, so I am happy to get Adams. Gray is far away but the tools are there, so I just need to have patience. Woodford looks to be serviceable innings eater and the draft pick is just a nice lottery ticket. Great working with Chuck on this and excited to get the off-season rolling!

I made this trade to try and bolster my team for one more run for a Title. I love what Yuli and Clint can bring to my team. I would love it if Clint could be acquired by the Phillies. You never know with the Girardi connection to the Yankees. It was great working with Brandon as usual. A small trade turned into something bigger. Good luck Brandon and U hope this works out for the both of us.
