The Colorado Devil Rays trade: Scott Kingery, OF (PHI) - ‘19-‘22: $0.5M to the Philadelphia Athletics for: 2020 Draft 2nd Round selection 2021 Draft 1st Round selection 2021 Parent Franchise Protection pick Ryan Weathers, SP (SDP) - prospect Yasel Antuna, SS (WAS) - prospect Trent Deveaux, OF (LAA) - prospect
Devil Rays Logic: Chuck is in win-now mode and really wanted Kingery. I wasn’t high on moving him, but I felt this was a more than generous offer. Weathers is a top-100 prospect and has shown nice flashes this season. Antuna and Deveaux are still in the lower levels, but have shown that they have, what I feel is, a high floor. Since the players involved are so young, the high draft picks help increase the quantity in this deal as well as the likelihood that one or two players I’m getting reach the majors. Great dealing with a Chuck and I appreciate his patience with me on this deal. Best of luck the rest of this season to the Philadelphia Astros!

Agreed. I am definetely "In it ro win it". I love the versitility that Kingery brings to my lineup. He is young and a rising star for the Phillies. I think I provided Brandon with a hefty package to build upon yo help with his rebuild. I wish hom all the luck going forward. He is always open for creative trade ideas. I hope this trade works out for both teams .
