Reasoning: I needed to clear up some salary and didn't have an obvious release candidate. The cost was steep here in terms of talent, but Greinke is an upgrade for this year in my estimation. Tapia is a guy that I have been crazy about for a long time, but I finally had to give in and move him. Nice talks with Ryan, and hopefully this works out for both squads!

Sitting toward the bottom of the standings making a deal like this makes a ton of sense for me. While I take on a good bit of money, especially next year, I get some young help in the OF and a young pitcher with some solid upside, without losing too much from Greinke to Tanaka.
