Giants Receive: C.J. Cron 2019: 3M, 2020: 5M Hansel Robles 2019: .5M Ian Anderson MiLB
Mets Receive: Shohei Ohtani 2019-2022: .5M Hans Crouse MiLB Johnathan Rodriguez MiLB
The Mets make this deal to get an impact player in Ohtani. With Alonso waiting in the minors, Cron was expendable and while I hate to deal Anderson, I feel I'm getting someone that may end up with similar value in Crouse. Rodriguez is a nice wild card for me down the road. Thanks and good luck to Texas. |

Confirmed. Ohtani's value to me is still high and has a ton of potential, but I don't feel he provides value on my team this year, I can supplement his numbers with Cron's who is on a much more productive team this year while obtaining a potential ace in Anderson who will be in Atlanta sooner rather than later. Robles could provide sneaky value with Saves for the rest of the year and could be a potential prospect tag if the rest of the year is solid. Good luck to the Mets and I hope Ohtani provides you value this year and in the future.
