St. Louis A's are excited to announce a 2 for 2 deal with Cleveland Nationals:
St. Louis sends Yan Gomes C and Edmundo Sosa
for
Cleveland Nats: Blake Rutherford and Jay Groome
Reasoning: I was approached by Nats who needed a Catcher to replace his injured Sal Perez: I do have a love of Whitesox Prospects and Rutherford may or may not stay with organization, however, I like the extra muscle he has put on this off season. I also asked for Jay Groome as I am just starting the long game here and I can wait on his Tommy John to hopefully recover him in full in 2020 with my boy Kopech
Gomes was one of the catchers I used FA money for, but it made more sense to continue to take on some talented MILB players in hope they hit down the road.
