Braves trade Blake Rutherford
Nationals trade Justin Turner
Looking to flip prospects for MLB talent. Turner fits nicely into my lineup

Cleveland agree, haven't got enough tags to keep Turner so happy to get a solid prospect for him

Commish approved and processed (Turner will be added when tagged).

FYI - can't add Turner to Seattle yet. He's been RFA tagged, not Franchise tagged.

I was told that I couldn't franchise tag him

You can't Franchise tag him Jason. Henry could have and then traded him to you, but according to the rules as they are, we can't Franchise tag a player coming over in a trade. Maybe that should have been up for discussion as well.

Yeah Scott did mention it before to me but I haven’t seen where it was written and thought that it had been done before. If the case, happy to reverse the trade of course.

That is the rule that we have played by from the beginning, and it is in the constitution after the update that I did at the beginning of the offseason.

Ahh gotcha- sorry I hadn’t studied the rewrite and this one passed me by.
Jason, happy to cancel the trade, or if you want to RFA Turner I can trade him for your 4th rounder? By the new rule you would probably get a pick at least that high next year if you chooose not to keep him

I'll RFA him. The pick comp will be a better prospect than Rutherford
