This is another rule change that has been proposed or discussed in a couple different iterations over the last couple years.

Rule Proposal #2:
Rather than having a deadline for releasing prospects prior to the prospect draft, teams will have 1 week after the draft ends to trim the prospect roster to 60. This would eliminate the forfeiture of draft picks due to a roster filling up.

Minors rosters will not have to be trimmed until 1 week after draft ends, and thus picks will not be forfeited for rosters that are at 60.
