Great quickfire chat with Brandon just before the deadline. Looks like I'm a longshot for 1st place, but for me to have any chance I'll need wins and Ks, and so rolling the dice on Glasnow and Cahill makes sense. Pity to give away two speedy prospects and a guy I'm very excited about in Lowe (the guy looks like a monster at the plate right now), as well as a good young bullpen arm, but this is what one does at this point in the season. Best of luck to Brandon, hope this works out for us both!

Easy dealing with Henry here. Excited to get one last deal in before the deadline. The rebuild continues. Glasnow is young, controllable, and might thrive in his new environment in Tampa, but there are still too many questions for me so it was nice to get some pieces here. Lowe is the centerpiece of the deal as I am lacking in 1B prospects and it looks like he is putting it together in 2018. Mateo and Tucker are solid middle infield prospects that could be more than just steals going forward. Tucker is repeating AA, but is still just 22. Mateo just turned 23 in AAA. I am excited by both of these prospects. Green is a solid bullpen arm and Kang was to help Henry with some salary (and get Lowe). Smooth and easy negotiations. Hopefully this works out well for both of us!
