I was recently looking at some of the functionality in Fantrax and came across this feature:
-Weekly + Daily Periods
You can now create a league with weekly lineup periods for claims/drops and trades, and daily lineup periods for lineup changes or just IR moves
-I think this a great feature for a Roto Style league like ours. This would allow the ability to replace an injured player without losing a full weeks worth of stats. You could also setup platoons on your own team. Let me know how everyone feels about this . Maybe we can vote this in for next year.
Thanks, Chuck( Phila. Astros)

Hey guys, good suggestion and I like the added strategy behind platoons and matchups, but my personal view is it's so hard to keep up with everything and a lot of people in the league have trouble setting weekly lineups (I forgot to do mine this week!) that daily is a step too far. But happy to have a vote and see what happens!

The functionality works also works for players that are put on the disabled list.

From a personal standpoint, I agree that this would be great! From a commissioner standpoint, I have the same concerns as Henry. It's telling that the most active owners like the idea. I'm not sure the same can be said for some of the less active guys. That being said, I'm open to putting it to a vote. We have at least a couple of teams that are going to need replacement owners, so hopefully we can get active replacements in place.

This is the only weekly lineup league that I have, and I am much more likely to forget to change my lineups in this league, than I am in any of my daily leagues. For me, when it's a daily league, I'm looking at it every morning. When it's only a Monday thing, it's easy to forget to go into it, especially being a team that is out of the running.

I just wanted to quickly inject my 2 cents worth. In DD4, we have been using daily lineups from day one (currently in our second year). I myself greatly prefer daily to weekly lineups. I think that is where you "separate the men from boys," as it's easy to just set a lineup on Monday and forget about it till the following week. Also, as Ryan mentioned previously, it is a very effective tool in "promoting owner engagement." The only thing I would suggest is that, if going to a daily lineup league, that some sort of Innings Pitched limit be implemented (we have a 1,600 IP limit in DD4 and there are no issues whatsoever with that). By putting that IP limit in place, it helps add another element of strategy, albeit it a relatively minuscule one, and it also prevents an owner from just "loading up on starting pitchers" and winning the QS & Ks categories by sheer volume (granted there are drawbacks to that strategy as well, could negatively affect ERA/WHIP). Just food for thought. Also, it shouldn't be a huge change in strategy owner-wise, so it should be a "seamless" change. Just food for thought. I highly recommend daily lineups!
