Brandon, Since you acquired Cabrera in 2018 via a trade, the cap hit is 50%(7,500,000). You are also responsible for 3.75 mil( 25% of 15 Mil) for 2019.

Chuck is correct about the 2019 responsibility. There is not, however, an increased responsibility due to trade acquisition. The Cabrera franchise contract was signed before the 2016 season for 4 years, so Brandon is only responsible for 25% of 15M in 2018 and 2019.

I guess I missed the 2019 portion of the deal. Looking back at the trade post, it said 2018-2018. I never looked at Chuck's roster after that. Sorry for the confusion on my end.

No problem. I thought trading for a player and then releasing a player in the same year was a 50% cap hit. That is my bad. Sorry for the confusion.
