The fire sale has begun in earnest.
The Colorado Devil Rays trade: Nolan Arenado, 3B (COL) - '18-'22: $15M Scott Schebler, OF (CIN) - '18-'20: $0.5M Mike Montgomery, P (CHC) - '18-'19: $0.5M 2019 3rd Rd. Draft Selection
to the KC Marlins for: Shane Greene, P (DET) - '18-'19: $8M Nick Kingham, P (PIT) - '18: $0 Max Stassi, C (HOU) - Minor Leagues Lucas Erceg, 3B (MIL) - Minor Leagues Taylor Hearn, P (PIT) - Minor Leagues Austin Dean, OF (MIA) - Minor Leagues Trevor Rogers, P (MIA) - Minor Leagues Jimmy Herget, P (CIN) - Minor Leagues
Colorado logic: This move wasn't easy to make, but I needed to get value out of Arenado. Greene was a salary addition for J and could still be flipped later. Stassi has been outstanding and catchers are always valuable. Once Kingham gets to go every 5th day, he is going to be something special. The others are minor leaguers that I have had my eye on and can be solid contributors at the big league level. Schebler and Montgomery are good players, but I don't see them as part of my future and were included to get the quantity and quality I was looking for. The 3rd rounder sealed the deal to include Kingham. Overall great working with J and I wish him luck going forward.

Confirm.
I could write a lot about the talent I gave up but I felt at ease with parting with it because of the chance to land Arenado. COL got a lot of potential impact players across the categories and I got some balance in the other players outside of Nolan. Hopefully a good deal for both sides in the long run.
