Jays trade: SS Paul DeJong STL 18: 500K, 19: 500K, 20: 500K, 21: 500K 1B Dom Smith NYM 18: 500K, 19: 500K, 20: 500K, 21: 500K OF Nick Williams PHI 18: 500K, 19: 500K, 20: 500K, 21: 500K
to Orioles for: OF Justin Upton ANA 18:22M 19:23M 20:32M 1B Greg Bird NYY 18: 500K, 19: 500K
My reasoning: I begin to clear a little bit of a roster crunch and add a premium talent in Upton. I take on some salary and give up some control, but I hope that both Upton and Bird can make significant contributions right away. I'm not sure that Smith and Williams will be able to do that this year. DeJong is tough to give up after last year's breakout, but I like Upton and Bird to be able to outperform the trio in the short term.
Nice negotiations with Brodie as always.

Agreed, Definitely some back and forth with Drew but I needed to fill a 2B hole this year and hopefully Dejong can play there enough to maintain eligibility next year. He provides some power at a premium position hopefully he can keep improving.
I value Dom Smith and Bird very closely; as Drew said Bird should definitely outperform Smith this year but with another two years of control over Bird this should fit needs for both teams.
Nick Williams hopefully can add some needed pop at the OF position this year.
Giving up upton was tough as I love the power speed guys in ROTO but he is getting older and comes with a mighty price tag.
