Reason for the deal: One word Ohtani. I've been dreaming of this player for almost 3 years and it was an opportunity to acquire him. I've built up my system just so I can make deals like this. While the price was indeed high I'm willing to do it for the opportunity to own this player. The picks were in lieu of giving up another top level prospect. Since I have no idea who will and won't be available I'd rather keep the prospect I already know. While Senzal is highly rated 3B is a positional strength of my team making Senzal expendable. Good luck to Kendrick in his rebuild hope this sets him up to contend in the near future.
