For me this is yet another attempt at 1st place and to save some CAP. Simple as that.
Detroit trades to Pitt
Jake Arrieta 18: $12m Marcel Ozuna FA Fernado Tatis Jr (Prospect) Walker Buehler (Prospect)
Pitt Trades
Cody Bellinger 18-21: $500k Dylan Bundy 18-20: $500k 2018 third round draft pick (TBD once draft is posted)
Brodie and I always seem to work well together so again nice doing bidness with ya.

I confirm,
This trade is tough for me to let go of Bellinger. That being said I am plugging one hole with three solid ones.
Tatis Jr is really one of those huge risers last season as well as the cornerstone for this deal, hitting for both power and speed. I think he will be a top 10 prospect in 2018's lists.
Buehler has top of the rotation potential which should add a solid piece to my Pitching staff that needs some work. Ozuna will be RFA'd and as mentioned before I have plenty of Cap space to save him. Arrieta was a cap relief for Jon and I plan on hoping he comes back strong and see what my plans are for him going into 2018. My third round pick was traded away but in a separate trade I have acquired two other 3rd round picks. Jon will be entitled to the earlier pick.
Again me and Jon seem to negotiate well together and I wish him luck this year.

Commish approved but the exact 3rd round pick has to be specified. I'm assuming by earlier one that you mean Detroit will now have 3.12, acquired from Chicago Blue Jays.
