Prospect Tags are NEW for 2018. This is the first season we'll have the opportunity to use them. A Prospect Tag can only go to a player coming off 4 seasons at $500K who was originally a minor leaguer on your roster that had been promoted. For this year players would have been a minor leaguer and/or $0 in 2013 (our 1st season) and then $500K in 2014-2017. Each owner is allowed one prospect tag per year ($3M for 2018, $5M for 2019) in addition to your 1 Franchise Tag and 2 RFA Tags.

Clarifying- if I apply a prospect tag for this year, it goes ahead and assigns the 3 and 5 years now, right. I am then eligible to prospect tag another guy next year?
Or do I tag with 3M this year and I have to use next year's tag for the 5M?

Not 100% sure Drew, but in my other leagues with the same rule it's $3m/$5m per tag. So you use a prospect tag on Player A then he is good for the following: 2018 = $3m 2019 = $5m
And then of course you use next year's tag on a different player. Scott to confirm, but pretty sure that's it.

That is how I read the rule. So was there a decision made on the topic of trading Tags ?

I have the vote as 8.5 (one maybe) to 3
I hope the one maybe will contact me with any questions so that I may explain the flexibility this offers.

You can then Prospect Tag another player next offseason who would have been $0 in 2014 (or in the minors) and 15-18:$0.5M.
