I have played in Fantasy Baseball Leagues that had "Monthly Payouts". This kept everyone in the league interested for the entire year. I think this could be implemented very easily in this league. The League I was commissioner in paid out 50% this way and 50% for the overall champions. I would like to know how everyone feels about this concept.

Its an interesting concept, I play in a weekly H2H league that pays out weekly. the pot is much larger tho. it gives the bottom feeder teams at least a chance to make some of their pot back in a rebuilding year.
The other question is: How would a winner be determined? most improved Roto points? or a snapshot of every month?
I find that it can take away from winning a league with the smaller pot. although it would be difficult to win a league without winning at least a month or two.

I'll be honest, I don't buy that being out of the pay range means you do not need to stay interested. In fact, I'd argue that it is exactly the opposite. Teams that are rebuilding should constantly be scouring the waiver wire/outrights and attempting to find anyone who they can then flip to another team later in the year. I've been undergoing a big rebuilding year in DD3 and am having a blast doing so. There's a beauty to having a flexible roster that allows you to take some chances.
So I guess I am opposed. No participation trophies.

I don't think it is a participation trophy at all. I think sometimes a rebuild can come together in mid-season. Or your team experienced a lot of injuries for a period of time.

I'd be up for it, as long as it doesn't impose too much admin on the commissioners. And I might be more in favour of a second half winner/runner up pot than a monthly pot as monthly will end up being pretty random.

Not a fan in a dynasty league. My goal when I'm rebuilding isn't to score the most points. It's aquiring assets so I can compete at a later date

You sound like Sam Hinke. He was a former general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers. His motto was "Trust the Process".
