Reason for this deal is to acquire an above average SP with cost control for the next two years. While the guys I gave up are solid prospects they are behind other more highly rated guys so it made sense to sacrifice depth for a player that can help now. This deal was a little tougher than my Swanson deal and took some give and take to get it done but it was fun to trade offers back and forth with Reid.

Grienke had more regression than anyone could have predicted. With FA upon us, it was time to move him for some pieces that could be dealt for other pieces I like better. The cap net alone is a huge score. The picks are icing on the cake.

Since he's brand new to the league and joined in the middle of this draft, I am going to make an executive decision (there's precedence for this) and allow him to drop up to 6 current minors guys from his roster to allow him to use his remaining picks in this draft.
