Da Saux strike again! On a more serious note, we already moved our other starting C and Flowers is bound to lose some time to Suzuki. A potential contender has more use for him than my retooling team can.
Murphy has some upside and he certainly has the platform to see if he can be a long-term piece in Minnesota. Garcia is a worthy gamble that he can harness his fancy (ish) tools. The ability to stay at shortstop long-term and his age work in his favor.

Pretty straightforward - needed a 2nd catcher and Flowers should at least get a shot at being the starter in ATL. I viewed Murphy and Garcia as expendable...
