to the Texas Giants for:
Archie Bradley, SP (ARI): '17:$0.5M '18:$0.5M '19:$0.5M '20:$0.5M
Steven Okert, RP (SF): - Prospect
D.J. Peterson, 3B,CI (SEA): - Prospect
Devil Rays thinking: Striking while the iron is hot on Price. Dealing him saves me salary while adding a young pitching prospect (Bradley) who still has tons of potential and is only 24. I feel that Bradley is going to be a stud. Also Peterson is a bit unheralded of a prospect, but his hit tool is impressive and he consistently has a high OPS. Plus, I need some position player prospects that have a high probabilty of being quality big leaguers. Okert is a nice throw in with the potential to become a good source of holds down the line. Great working with Steve on this deal. Took some time and some back and forth, but I feel that in the end it will be beneficial to us both; Giants more in the short-term and Devil Rays more in the long-term.
