The Phila. Astros send:

1) Riley Ferrell - SP - Astros (prospect)
2) Elezer Alvarez - 2B - Cardinals (Prospect)

The Colorado Devil Rays send:

1) Jake Odorizzi - SP - Rays ( 2017-2018): 500K

-The reason for this trade is to add some depth to my starting staff. Odorizzi is a solid 3rd or 4th starter at a cheap price for the next 2 years. The prospects that I gave up will take some time, but might turn out to be very good in a few years. I hope it works out for both sides. Good luck Brandon!!!

I like this trade for the Devil Rays because it allows me to add a solid MI prospect and a fireballing pitcher to my farm system. Ferrell is coming back from injusry, but is young enough that it shouldn't hamper his development. Losing A young controllable pitcher is never ideal, but shouldn't hurt me in the long run. Great dealing with Chuck again!
