I like this trade for the D-Rays because it allows me top address the need for prospect depth as well as clear more cap space for free agents. It is a fine line balancing a rebuild with competing, but I am giving it my best shot. Great working with Steve.

I've been slowly rebuilding and I'm at the point where I've started to acquire MLB pieces. I have a bunch of picks in the upcoming draft so I feel like I can prob replace the prospects I lost in this deal and needed to make room anyway. Brandon was easy to work with and I think we did this deal in a 1/2 hour. Good luck to both teams

First glance it appears the prospect package going back to Brandon is a bit light but with McCutchen's $14M salary and coming off a down year for his standards this is not enough to warrant further review.
