Orioles give up: Will Myers 17:$500k
Astros Give up
1) Anthony Banda SP (Prospect) 2) Tyler Jay -SP (Prospect) 3) Chance Adams - SP - Yankees(Prospect) 4) Corey Knebel RP 17-19 $500K
Reasoning from my side is easy, I am trying to get younger and restock my prospects with good quality arms. Kneel has a chance to be a closer in the near future, adams, Jay and Banda are all quality arms with solid potential. If 2/4 turn out to their potential I will be quite happy with this trade.
While Myers is a solid player I only had one more year of control with him and am unsure that even if he had a big year that I would be comfortable giving him a long term contract given his injury history.
That being said if healthy he is a top quality ROTO player that contributes in all offensive categories. Definitely worth the risk for chuck who hopes to compete this season. I hope it works out for both squads.

Clarification. Brodie you may have seen this if you dug a little deep in went into our league archive boards. Myers was an inaugural season Minor Leaguer, the #1 Rays prospects at the time as a matter of fact. His first Diamond Duos contract was 14-17:$0.5M. That being the case you wouldn't only have 1 more year of control. You'd have 2018 at $3M and 2019 at $5M if Myers were to be given a Prospect Tag. Every team only gets one Prospect Tag per season but you could use yours on him next season. Just wanted to make sure all parties are aware of this. Prospect Tags will be coming into play for the first time in Diamond Duos next offseason.

I messaged Brodie to tell him about the prospect tag.

I got Chuck's message. He gave me the option to rescind the trade if I wanted. While I normally don't like to rescind trade offers I would like to excersise this option with Commissioner approval.
While I was aware of the rules I thought Myers was part of the inaugural draft and thus not prospect eligible.
I will not be making the same mistake in the future.

The question is did Brandon know this when he traded Myers to Brodie?

I didn't not know this, but I am still ok with trading him away. I like the return and the financial freedom I'll gain in 2018. I don't see myself tagging Myers so I have no problem with the trade.

We're all learning all the time. That's good.
Per Chuck's ok and Brodie's request, this proposed trade is rescinded.
