The Phila. AStros send: 1) Max Scherzer - 15 mil (2016), 15 mil ( 2017) 2) John Giovanatella - 650 k -(2016-2017) 3) 3rd round minors -(2017)
The Cleveland Nationals send: 1) Jose Quintanna - 16.5 mil (2016), 9.6 mil (2017), 9.6 mil (2018) 2) Jose Ramirez - 500k (2016 to 2018) 3) 2nd round minors (2017) -( acquired from Detroit Brewers) - (The reason for this trade is to look for the future and beyond. I get an up and coming infielder/ outfielder pretty cheap for 3 more years after 2016 and acquire an all star calliber arm for 2 more years at a reasonable salary of 9.6 mil. Plus I gain a nice 2nd round minors selection. Hopefully If my offence does better next year, iI will be in position to contend for a title in the next 2 years. Good luck Henry .

Agreed- Quintana has quietly become a stud, and Ramirez is so young and quite exciting, but Max is Max. Even despite the difference in contracts and the addition of Ramirez he can give one last extra boost to my pitching staff at a key point in the season.
