Why do we allow managers who match an offer in the RFA process to then restructure the offer? It does not make sense to me in reality that if a bid is placed with a current year salary of say $15 mil that the matching offer can restructure to offer much less in the current year.
I reality, a player would never accept that deal.........
Just my humble opinion..........

It's specifically matching the AAS, not necessarily the salary of a certain year. Period.
So you matched Murphy at $10M AAS. But you are given the option of restructuring individual years as long as you keep the $10M AAS, which is what you decided to match.
