Guys, I'll make this quick. Just had a nice conversation with KC Marlins Kirk. I wanted to get clarification on something, and I did. When Kirk joined us as a replacement to previous owner, it was February 4th and the keeper deadline was upon us. I gave him an extra 2 days to get his keepers squared away and I assumed he understood everything as he told me he did. Problem is he believed he was only able to keep up to 15 Marlins and 15 Royals - but from what was already listed as the previous owner's keepers.
I was kind of curious why he nominated Ruggiano when he could have kept him, and then another owner asked me about it too, and now I understand why. Kirk did everything he could to commit to our league, agree to take over the KC Marlins (not a juggernaut) and digest the extensive rules we had set forward. This little misunderstanding has now left him a little more behind the 8-ball.
Just wanted to gauge league opinion out there, and Kirk, please take no offense to any responses that may come. I would like to propose allowing him to add an additional 5 Marlins keepers (that are free agents that have not been posted on the bidding board yet). He only kept 7 out of 15 possible, but like I said, believed he was only allowed to choose from the previous owner's roster. This would allow him up to 12 Marlins, not even a full 15, but would allow him just a bit more of that dynasty feel we are so trying to build here.
Reply here with your thoughts. Obviously bidding on Ruggiano will continue as is on the board. Thank you.

As long as the players haven't been posted I have no issue with it, it would need to be done quickly though.

Ok, but Adcock still needs to be a major league keeper

Thanks for the support guys. I'm trying to get in touch with Kirk to see if he's going to take me up on this offer. I've told him to do this ASAP if he wants to. Ruggiano is off limits to him since he's already on the board receiving contract offers.

Guys,
I really appreciate everyone being so gracious in this matter, and I especially appreciate Scott going to bat for me. I certainly didn't expect the opportunity to keep additional players and I didn't have a problem with it; good group of guys playing here.
I've selected 5 additional Marlins and used the salary values currently posted on Fantrax; if adjustment according to Cot's is necessary that's fine, too.
Jon Rauch, RP, $3.5M Placido Polanco, 3B, $6.25M Greg Dobbs. IF/OF, $1.5M Logan Morrison, IF/OF, $0.5M Austin Kearns, OF, $1.3M
Thanks again, everyone, and good luck this year!

From Commish Scott:
Rauch is ineligible to be kept because he signed after the original keeper date, January 21st. You can pick another player on the Marlins, as long as he was under contract before that that date.
Thanks!

I will check on these players' salaries on Cot's. I am not sure the salaries in Fantrax are all correct. Will post these players (Polanco, Dobbs, Morrison, Kearns) on KC Marlins rosters on ProBoards and Fantrax later tonight.
Kirk, pick another player if you want in place of Rauch. He signed with Miami after our original keeper deadline 1/21. Thanks.

OK, final slot goes to Evan Reed, RP, MIA ($0.5M), with my final pick. I only have 23 on the minors roster so he'll go there for now.
