12 hours has passed. Robertson would go to NY DBacks but Chris already has 40 players. He cannot revert to LA Mets at this point since he moved on and offered contracts to other players.
I believe Robertson needs to go back into the FA pool at this time unless someone tells me otherwise. Does he fall to the high offer before LA Mets? That would be Colorado Rays for 2 years, $16M.

NY Diamondbacks illegal bids caused me to in reality be bidding against myself. It also caused me to change plans and move in a different direction than I intended. So at this point I am requesting a waiver of the $10M cap limit that would provide me with an opportunity to sign Robertson and make a roster move immediately to get me under the cap limit.

I think that bid goes back on the board and must sit for 12 hours. There were several offers after that, so no telling if someone would have upped the 8M AAS offer.

Chris's bids were not any more illegal than yours were. Both were bidding on excess players (either in salary or in #). Chris did not have 40 players on the roster when the bids were made, but did not have available roster space for all the players he could potentially win. Same goes for Jim, except the salary cap was the limiting factor.

I don't even know if the Colorado 2 yrs, $16M offer can go back on the board. He's gone in another direction as well and has put a lot of money out on the board with other players since.

As a precedent we can't let it go back to Rob- without Chris and Jim's bidding I and others could have put in a bid... Really annoying for Rob though because you're right he may well have altered his strategy because of it.

I feel that he should go back on the board to start again - too many what its to choose where it should go back to.
That or to me for 500k for 4 y!

Well he's in the FA pool right now. This thread is no longer current. If someone wants to nominate Robertson, feel free.
