I don't consider it a salary dump. I did free up salary but i also picked up a quality 3B who I now have control over for the foreseeable future

It looks like you matched his offer and immediately offered him up for trade, so probably not a salary dump. Why Pitt didn't bid Pence up for himself is beyond me.
