I have no problem saying this rule goes into effect next year so we can start unrestricted free agency tonight. I just think doing this is the right thing for the league. This will allow you the chance to regroup after RFA and prepare for UFA.

Steve, do we need to clarify? You're saying this motion is to allow releasing of players up until a certain time before RFA, and then after RFA is complete to allow releasing of players up to 48 hours before UFA begins, correct?

No RFA are a select group of players they have no bearing on the rest. I don't see why it would make a difference if someone released a player during that time. Only time I think you shouldn't be allowed is when UFA is in progress

I'm sorry. This doesn't work for me. I don't care if RFA or UFA is in progress. I do not want players being released during a period when contracts are being offered. I do not have wiggle room on this.
I am fine with people deciding whether or not we allow releases again after RFA and prior to UFA, but there won't be teams dropping players while we're in the middle of a free agency bidding period.
