Hey all,
This is a NCAA tourney bidding pool I'm doing.
Everything is done online at the following ProBoards site:
marchmadnesspicks.proboards.com/
You must register for a free username and be logged in to submit bids.
Bids on Play-In teams must be submitted by Monday night 3/17 11:59pm at latest since the games are on Tuesday. Bids on all other teams must be submitted by Wednesday night 3/19 11:59pm. As games will begin around Noon on Thursday, I don't think it's fair to have bidding going on right up until tipoff as some people aren't able to be online that morning (via computer, mobile device, whatever) leading up to the games. It is a work day for some of us!
Bidding begins with $0.25 if you want a team and will go up from there. All team threads will be unlocked as soon as I can get the names of the team loaded up after the Selection Show early Sunday evening 3/16.
Rules (which are on the site too) are:
Pretty simple. You may bid on as many or as few teams as you'd like. You could spend $0.25-$0.50 to get a team, but you may have to go $5.00-$8.00 or more, to get some other teams. All depends on how many people are in the pool and are bidding.
All tournament teams are eligible to be bid on, including teams in the play-in games.
Prizes are as follows (you must own the team to win the prize) and will be determined by the amount in the pot:
• National Champion: 35%
• National Runner Up: 15%
• Final 4 (loser): 10%
• Final 4 (loser): 10%
• Elite 8 (loser): 5%
• Elite 8 (loser): 5%
• Elite 8 (loser): 5%
• Elite 8 (loser): 5%
• Big Seed Upset Round 2 (March 20-21): 5% (split evenly if tie)
• Big Seed Upset Round 3 (March 22-23): 5% (split evenly if tie)
Bids can be made in $0.25 increments minimum, no max. **Disclaimer - please do not bid more than you're able to personally cover. You will be responsible for paying for each team you win via auction. Anyone who hasn't paid for their teams by March 26 will be disqualified and teams will revert to the owner of the second highest bid.
All teams on the board at once. Bidding closes on all 1st round (play-in teams) at 11:59pm Monday night, March 17. Bidding closes on all other teams at 11:59pm Wednesday night, March 19. 2nd round games begin Thursday afternoon March 20.
Please tell others about it. I'd really like to get a good number of people in. The more the merrier!
Thanks,
Scott
