As usual I do a lot of research for the minors draft and fall in love with a few players. This assures me that I'll get 3 of the guys I want and if my research is right they will be worth more than I gave up. Getting Madson back will help for this season since my pen is thin and I'll have the option of keeping him going forward. This was a continuation of a previous discussion with Brody so it's nice we got this done.

Confirmed!

I targeted Alfaro in previous conversations. I feel that he can provide some much needed power at a premium position and is ready to contribute in the next year or so. I felt that the draft is fairly deep this year and are lots of players I would be happy with adding at 2.1. to me the downgrade in draft position and one year of Madson was well worth the premium I obtained in Alfaro and a first rounder in 2018.

There was definitely some back and forth between Steve and I but glad we could come to a consensus. Steve is easy to work with and I wish him well moving forward. (but not too well; there is draft position at stake here )

Just for the record, all these trading of picks is a pain in the ass for the Commissioner and the modifying of each draft round thread!! You guys need to keep track of this 2018 traded pick so I don't forget about it next year.
